OUR COMMUNITY & SUPPORTERS
While we depend on many people in Australia and PNG. A few deserve special mention.
Turramurra Hamamas Meris
Led by Sue Spencer and Pam Pritchard of the Rotary Club of Turramurra, a team of Sydney women raised funds, bought materials, and cut fabric for Hamamas Meri kits — work rural Manus had no tables, scissors or workspace to do at scale. Wantaim PNG freighted it north.
It worked. Today, Hamamas Meri is run entirely by women in Manus, who now gather in Pihi Manus Association’s conference room — equipped by Wantaim PNG with tables, chairs and the essentials. Turramurra’s hands-on support isn’t needed anymore. That’s not a loss. It’s the goal. Most aid programmes never get there. This one did, because a Sydney Rotary group backed a Manus-led solution until it no longer needed backing — the same principle behind everything we do here.

MARIA MOLNAR BIBLE TRAINING SCHOOL
Staff, students and friends of the School in Lugos have supported several Wantaim PNG programmes — from weaving sago walls for the Lap’lang Facility to packing and labelling over 133,000 bars of soap during our COVID hygiene response.
ROTARY INTERNATIONAL
Eleven Rotary Clubs across NSW, QLD and PNG back our programmes, connecting with four of Rotary’s seven key areas of focus: fighting disease, WASH, saving mothers and children, and supporting education.

VOLUNTEERS & COLLABORATORS
Wantaim PNG runs on the support of professional volunteers who give time, tools and expertise — from boat repairs and tool restoration to video editing and event support.
YOUR GROUP COULD BE NEXT
Rotary Turramurra started with fundraising and a pair of scissors — and helped build a programme that now runs entirely on its own. That’s the kind of impact a group of ordinary people can have.
Rotary clubs. Schools. Workplaces. Community groups.
What could your group build?
