WHERE WE WORK
We support rural communities in Manus Province, PNG, to thrive — communities that are productive, connected, and where people can shape their own futures. Together. Wantaim.
Every programme below is built on the same four principles — read more about The Wantaim Way.
Papua New Guinea is one of the most extraordinary places on earth — over 800 languages, landscapes ranging from active volcanoes to coral atolls, and cultures unchanged for thousands of years living alongside some of the fastest urban growth in the Pacific.
We work in Manus — one of its toughest corners. Less than 1% of PNG’s population calls it home, making it the country’s smallest province. But it’s also the largest by area: 600kms of open sea from one end to the other, with no roads connecting most of it. Reaching many Manus communities takes a full day of boat travel.
Each marker on the map is a community we partner with.

WHERE THE MONEY GOES
We’re committed to high impact and to giving donors peace of mind. In our most recent audited figures (FY2025), 96% of total expenditure went directly to our partner communities, with 3% on fundraising and education, and 1% on administration and overheads.
Beyond that, 56% of our total spending is paid in PGK — directly into Manus and PNG’s economy, rather than funding overheads elsewhere. In a region where over 90% of people rely on subsistence living, that matters: a dollar spent locally goes further, and stays where it’s needed.
